Casey DeSantis has always played a very active role in her husband’s campaigns and within his administration.

After several months of chemotherapy treatments, Ron DeSantis shared the news that Casey was cancer-free in March of 2022.

But conservatives will be saddened by the six words Ron DeSantis just said about his wife Casey.

Since he took office in January of 2019, Ron DeSantis has transformed the political landscape in Florida far more than any of his predecessors.

In 2019, Democrats enjoyed a voter registration advantage over Republicans of more than 300,000 people.

But that all changed after Ron DeSantis took the lead on fighting Biden’s COVID tyranny and taking on the Left’s woke ideology.

During his 2022 re-election bid, DeSantis defeated Charlie Crist by 19 points and led Republicans to a supermajority in the State Legislature.

He also flipped several Democrat counties over to Republicans.

As a result, today Republicans now hold a registration advantage over Democrats of more than 900,000 people.

Florida law only allows a Governor to serve two consecutive terms, meaning Ron DeSantis will leave office in January of 2027.

But rumors have been circulating that his wife Casey was planning on making a bid for the Governor’s Mansion in 2026.

A recent poll even showed her leading Matt Gaetz (R-FL) by 38% to 16%, with 46% undecided.

And a 2023 poll showed her leading a packed Primary field with 22% of the vote.

Of course, Casey DeSantis has always played an instrumental role in her husband’s campaigns and in his gubernatorial administration.

“Casey DeSantis was a constant presence on the campaign trail as her husband, the governor, mounted an ultimately unsuccessful bid for the 2024 Republican nomination,” Fox News reported. “Political observers and supporters often remarked that the first lady’s charisma and inspiring story as a cancer survivor made her the highlight of her husband’s events.”

But at a recent event in Coral Gables, Ron DeSantis addressed the rumors about Casey planning a bid for the Governor’s Mansion.

“I would say – if I had to characterize her interest in getting into the political thicket as a candidate,” DeSantis said, before adding that “I would characterize it as zero.”

“She’s had a front row seat of all the nonsense that’s gone on,” he added.

DeSantis said he understands why his wife’s name is being floated around by so many people given her amazing work within his administration.

“Just look at ‘Hope Florida’,” he said in reference to an initiative spearheaded by Casey that helps people get off of government assistance. “Forget about all the stuff she’s done with mental health in schools, with helping get substance abuse – which has been serious – ‘Hope Florida’ alone, it’s been one of the more successful programs to deal with social problems that we can see in modern history.”

“Imitation is the most– is the sincerest form of flattery, and people wouldn’t be imitating what she’s been able to do unless it’s been successful – and it has been,” DeSantis concluded.

Ron DeSantis transformed Florida from a swing state to a solid red state.

Conservatives were hoping to see his wife pick up where he left off by seeking the office in 2026.

But Ron DeSantis just put that rumor to bed.
