Rats begin to leave the sinking ship that is Joe Biden’s campaign
The CNN debate between President Joe Biden and former President Donald Trump could go down as the most consequential Presidential debate since Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy in 1960.
Democrats are on edge after Biden confirmed the worst fears about his mental decline with a performance so shockingly awful that the media couldn’t spin it.
Polls show that as many as 86% of voters think that Biden is too old to complete a second term.
The President was trailing Trump in national and swing state polling before his debate debacle.
Now, Democrats aren’t just worried about Biden’s campaign.
They’re worried the political fallout from his candidacy could tank Democrats in House and Senate races this fall.
Politico reported that Democrat megadonors are plotting on how to thwart Trump in a second term after the debate.
“The way I’m talking to my donors is: The House is the last firewall, folks. We have to flip the House,” a House Democrat in a competitive district told Politico Playbook. “Ninety-nine percent of the people I talked to can’t get their credit card out fast enough.”
Biden’s campaign may be toast this fall, and it’s every Democrat on the ticket for themselves.
Some Democrats pointed to the strategy that Congressional Republicans used in the 1996 Presidential Election.
Former President Bill Clinton was a heavy favorite throughout the 1996 Election cycle against U.S. Senator Bob Dole (R-KS).
Republicans cut their losses with Dole and worked on preserving the majorities they picked up in the 1994 Midterm Elections, dubbed the “Republican Revolution.”
Anger growing among Democrats about Joe Biden
Democrats and their media allies tried to keep a lid on Biden’s mental decline for years by claiming behind closed doors he ran circles around everyone.
And they laughably claimed videos that showed him looking like a feeble old man were edited or out of context.
House Democrats are furious that First Lady Jill Biden and the rest of the Bidens are keeping the President in the race.
“It’s just his egotism and his family’s enabling,” a House Democrat said. “Jill [Biden] of all people — she sees him every single day. She’s the one person who could end this train wreck. […] This should have been a one-term President.”
Democrats are hoping that Joe Biden changes his mind and throws in the towel on his campaign.
“The leadership of the party should be going to the White House and knocking down the doors and saying, ‘Time’s up,’” an adviser to top Democratic donors told Politico. “Anybody trying to prolong the inevitable here is just basically putting us on a giant fucking death march towards the end.”
Anger and despair are setting in among Democrats as they realize they’re shackled to Joe Biden till Election Day.
