Stormy Daniels is at the center of Donald Trump’s criminal trial in New York.
A surprise witness from her past could change the direction of the case.
And Stormy Daniels’ former creepy porn lawyer could upend Donald Trump’s trial with this bombshell.
Disgraced former media darling remerges
Attorney Michael Avenatti became a media sensation by rushing to put himself in front of any camera he could find while he served as Stormy Daniels’ lawyer in 2018.
During former President Donald Trump’s first team, he became a regular on left-wing outlets like CNN and MSNBC.
Disgraced former CNN host Brian Stelter even touted him as a contender for the Democrat Presidential nomination in 2020 and visited Iowa to meet local Democrat Party officials.
Former Fox News host Tucker Carlson dubbed Avenatti the “creepy porn lawyer” on his show for his shady behavior.
Avenatti’s fame and legal career came crashing down after he was convicted of trying to extort Nike for $25 million along with tax evasion and fraud.
He’s currently serving a 19-year sentence in federal prison for his crimes.
Now this one-time Trump nemesis could become an unlikely participant in the former President’s criminal trial in Manhattan.
Michael Avenatti has spoken with Donald Trump’s legal team about testifying
Avenatti has intimate knowledge of Daniels after serving as her attorney for years.
He told the New York Post that he’s spoken with Trump’s legal team and is willing to testify in the Manhattan criminal case.
“The defense has contacted me,” Avenatti told the Post in a phone call from a federal prison in Los Angeles. “I’d be more than happy to testify, I don’t know that I will be called to testify, but I have been in touch with Trump’s defense for the better part of a year.”
Avenatti refused to divulge any of the details about his conversations with Trump’s attorneys.
He said that the case brought by Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is politically motivated.
“There’s no question [the trial] is politically motivated because they’re concerned that he may be reelected,” Avenatti said. “If the defendant was anyone other than Donald Trump, this case would not have been brought at this time, and for the government to attempt to bring this case and convict him in an effort to prevent tens of millions of people from voting for him, I think it’s just flat out wrong, and atrocious.”
And he predicted that the Democrats’ lawfare against Trump could put him back in the White House.
“I’m really bothered by the fact that Trump, in my view, has been targeted. Four cases is just over the top and I think there’s a significant chance that this is going to all backfire and is going to propel him to the White House,” Avenatti continued. “Depending on what happens, this could constitute pouring jet fuel on his campaign.”
Michael Avenatti was one of Donald Trump’s fiercest critics in the media during his first term in office.
Now he could be a surprise witness that would turn his criminal trial upside down.
