One name is starting to rise to the top of the shortlist.
And Donald Trump Jr. made one shocking prediction about dad’s running mate.

One of the biggest questions is who could join him on the Republican ticket as his running mate.

Donald Trump Jr. says he wants to see Tucker Carlson as his dad’s running mate
Trump Jr. told the outlet he’d like to see his dad pick former Fox News host Tucker Carlson to be his running mate but admitted there’s a long way to go.
“There would be a couple [of candidates] that I would love to see. If only just for the Vice Presidential debate. Like I’d love to see Tucker Carlson go up against Kamala Harris. Just that would be fun,” Trump Jr. told reporters in South Carolina.
Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) is another name that’s gotten some traction in the Vice Presidential sweepstakes.
“Tim is a good friend of mine,” Trump Jr. said. “Tim is a great guy.”
Trump has said in the past that he would consider picking Carlson as his Vice President.
During a Fox News town hall with host Laura Ingraham before the South Carolina Primary, Trump confirmed some of the names who are on his shortlist: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem, former GOP Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy, Rep. Byron Donalds (R-FL), Fox News contributor Tulsi Gabbard, and Scott.
“Are they all on your shortlist?” Ingraham asked Trump.
“They are,” Trump replied.
Trump Jr. has the ear of his father as one of his top advisors.
He wouldn’t be the only member of the Trump family that wants Tucker Carlson on the ticket.
Melania Trump wants Tucker Carlson to be her husband’s Vice President
Former First Lady Melanie Trump, according to a report from Axios, wants her husband to pick Carlson as his running mate.
“But here’s an interesting twist: Melania Trump is an advocate for picking Tucker Carlson, the booted Fox News star. She thinks Carlson would make a powerful onstage extension of her husband, a source close to Trump told us. The former first lady has made few campaign appearances this time around — but a Trump-Carlson ticket might encourage her to hit the trail,” Axios reported.
Carlson had denied any interest in running for political office in the past but an offer from Trump to be Vice President would give him something to think about.
The former Fox News host has his share of supporters in the Trump family who have the ear of the former President.
That could keep him at the top of the shortlist for Donald Trump’s Vice President.
