It’s an election year, and President Joe Biden has found himself trailing in the polls for months to former President Donald Trump.

That’s why desperation is setting in at the White House.

After claiming that he didn’t have the authority to take executive action to secure the border, Biden reversed course to issue a toothless executive order on border security.

Former White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki admitted that Biden’s executive order on the southern border was about addressing a “political vulnerability” during an appearance on MSNBC’s Morning Joe.

Psaki – now an MSNBC host – said that the border crisis was a significant political problem for the President.

“There needs to be something that’s done, but also, politically, this is one of the biggest vulnerabilities,” Psaki explained. “And regardless of who’s mad about the details of what’s in here and what isn’t in here, it’s a political vulnerability for the President and his campaign.”

She said that the White House knew that they had to do something because Biden was getting hammered on illegal immigration.

“They knew they would have to do something like an executive order before the election politically as well, and that’s what we’re seeing play out,” Psaki stated.

Psaki, in a rare moment of honesty, admitted that Biden’s executive order is a political calculation because it’s an election year.

The border crisis has become a big problem for Joe Biden 

Illegal immigration has become one of the top issues for voters in polling with inflation after Biden let nearly 10 million illegal aliens pour into the country.

Trump’s campaign wasn’t derailed after the lawfare against him, which is forcing Biden to pivot.

Now, he can claim to voters that he’s doing something to secure the border, but it could be too little too late.

Biden ran for President in 2020, promising to dismantle Trump’s border security policies and roll out the welcome for illegal aliens by promising to give them free health care.

And he began repealing border security policies the first day he was in the Oval Office, which set in motion the worst border crisis in the country’s history.

For three years, Biden denied there was a crisis at the southern border while millions of illegal aliens and deadly drugs flooded the country.

This year, he finally began to sing a different tune when he realized that illegal immigration was becoming a serious political liability.

Biden first claimed he was powerless to seal the border and demanded that Congress pass a phony border “security” bill that allowed two million illegal aliens to enter the country every year.

After trailing in the polls for months, he suddenly cares about the border.

If Biden wanted to solve the border crisis, he would have reinstituted Trump’s policies.

He’s hoping that he can pull a fast one on voters in an election year.
