Joe Biden has a serious problem on his hands for the 2024 Election.
A revolt is underway against him by the Democrat base.
And Democrat voters in this swing state delivered one message that had Joe Biden panicking.
A split is growing in the Democrat Party over President Joe Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war.
Younger voters, Muslims, and Arabs have been pressuring him to push for a ceasefire in the conflict.
The Michigan Presidential Primary was an opportunity to see how big the revolt brewing against Biden had become.
“Squad” member encourages Democrats to vote against Biden
Michigan has the largest Arab-American population by density of any state in the country along with a large Muslim community.
Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) – a member of Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s (D-NY) “Squad” – worked with the group Listen to Michigan to encourage voters to pick “uncommitted” on the state’s Democrat Primary ballot to send a message to Biden to back a permanent cease-fire in the Gaza Strip.
“I was proud today to walk in, and pull a Democratic ballot, and vote ‘uncommitted,'” Tlaib said in a video message. “President Biden is not listening to us. This is the way we can use our democracy to say: listen. Listen to Michigan.”
Michigan Democrats send a message to Joe Biden in the Primary
In a warning sign to Biden, “uncommitted” received 13.3% of the vote in a Michigan Democrat Primary.
No hope Democrat candidates Rep. Dean Phillips (D-MN) and spiritual guru Marianne Williamson – who had dropped out of the Primary – received roughly six percent of the vote combined.
Nearly 20% of Democrat voters in Michigan cast a protest vote against Biden.
Michigan is one of the most important swing states in the election and more than 140,000 Democrats voted against the party’s nominee.
These voters are a serious threat to stay home in November’s General Election or cast another protest vote for a third-party candidate.
The White House tried to downplay the revolt by Democrat voters in Michigan.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre claimed that Biden “appreciates the people of Michigan coming out last night to make sure that their voices were heard yesterday.”
“He’s proud to have received more than 80% of the Democratic Party voters’ vote, and I think that’s really important as it relates to the uncommitted,” Jean-Pierre remarked.
An incumbent President who’s essentially unchallenged in the Primary only receiving 80% of the vote is a flashing red warning sign.
MSNBC host Joe Scarborough said that the Biden campaign should be “concerned” about the Michigan Primary result.
“They need to be worried about it,” Scarborough said. “They obviously need to be concerned about it.”
The Democrat Party fracturing before the election in a crucial swing state is a nightmare scenario for Joe Biden.
